MAGAMBA FOREST NATURE RESERVES
The reserve is located in North Eastern part of Tanzania within Lushoto and Korogwe Districts of Tanga Region. The reserve area is part of West Usambara Mountain Ranges. Magamba Nature Forest Reserve is uniquely identified by a German cave and oldest skyline in East Africa as well as a fascinating stone with a human being foot step, known as “Jiwe la Mungu”. This stone as well as Kiguluhakwea and Kwehondo stones, provide spectacular viewpoints. Other attractions are old German cave, oldest Skyline in East Africa; waterfalls at Mkusu and Sungwi; Grewal pond; moths and butterflies of unique attractive colors; and astonishing landscape.
Accessibility
The reserve can be reached by private self-drive car or by taking public coaches plying the route of Dar es Salaam City and Lushoto, 339.3 kilometers. Visitors from Arusha City 310.8 kilometers have to come up to Lushoto town then proceed to Magamba head Office some 9 kilometers.
